People are writing stories about why Brazil is facing a rapid rise in coronavirus cases, but I want to read the stories about why Egypt, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nigeria and Pakistan are not. And they really aren't, and it is beyond time for people to get curious about why not.

This is the problem though isn't it -- the USA is a huge country with no internal borders. It's equivalent to if the EU had never stopped travel between countries when the virus hit. We may very well see hotspots flare up in different places, including rural areas, for months.

I agree with your general point that it's critical to find out why some countries were spared BTW. But I'm getting more and more pessimistic about the situation in the USA. 20k-30k new cases A DAY is insane.
