There is a point at which telling Americans to treat a highly regional crisis as a national one is not going to remain tenable. The strategy of accusing anyone who wants restrictions lifted of mass murder will backfire once a region lifts them and nothing really bad happens to it

No offense, but this is what the world said when Wuhan was reporting mass casualties. By definition, a pandemic is not a local issue.

Yes, and they are basing their reopening strategy on contact-tracing and mass testing That's different than just reopening places where case count is low Recall that all the current hotspots started as places with low case-count & no social controls until it got out of hand
