There is a point at which telling Americans to treat a highly regional crisis as a national one is not going to remain tenable. The strategy of accusing anyone who wants restrictions lifted of mass murder will backfire once a region lifts them and nothing really bad happens to it

Lockdowns were done largely because we don't know. I think we should know by now that e.g. outdoor activities aren't a major factor for spreading. We should focus more on finding out what's risky and what's not so we can scale back measures that aren't needed.
