i mean i could call america islamophobic and you could respond w a picture of an american hugging a muslim, & it wouldn’t totally demolish the claim. i don’t have data or anything but the japanese DID go to all the trouble of enshrining pasonaru supesu throughout shinto.

well then i’m astonished you don’t recognize that norms around personal space differ between the US and japan. i read it about it, i experienced it, i talked about it w my airbnb host for hours...little did i know this was all just a vast conspiracy to fool me, which they did.
