The orthodox dogma from NYC is still that "this will happen to you too, we were just the early warning". But the mounting evidence is that this pandemic hits unevenly, for reasons that aren't understood. An uneven impact will have interesting political consequences in America.

From the POV of the pond most of the time the lilies are growing they are not an issue. Until the very last day when the lilies population doubles in size and the pond fills up completely.

It's getting a little late in the calendar to make this argument. A lot of ponds are just not filling with lilies very fast.

Does most of America live in places not touched by it? Nowhere is suffering like NY but so many cities are dealing with it. Americans largely live in the larger metro areas. I don't think people really grasp where Americans live. Top 10 states=50% of pop. Top 15=60%.
