The #1 thing to know about Bayes' theorem is that you want to keep your life free of people who talk about it. That includes jargon like "priors". Using Bayes' theorem is like using a bidet—fine to do, healthy, even laudable, but something one should never bring up unasked.

Imagine if Rick and Morty was a short equation about probability. That's Bayes' theorem. Absolutely impossible to criticize on the merits, something you should definitely check out in private, but chiefly useful in helping you avoid the kind of people who like to talk about it
