Seriously, is it just racism that is causing US planners and pundits to ignore the lessons of Asia with Covid-19? South Korea’s fatality rates are well measured: they had a big enough outbreak for a good sample, but test & traced their way out of it so they have good rate data

South Korea and Hong Kong both have well established how it spreads: Droplets. Not like measles, largely not on surfaces. So mask wearing for source control is essential. Hong Kong showed what a single asymptomatic carrier can do in a restaurant: 10 infections across 3 tables

Japan is doing a crap job on everything BUT source control by wearing masks and locking down at CA rather than NY levels of cases.
