What we need more than national punditry in this crisis is good local journalism, which has already been dying for years. Does anyone out there have good ideas about how to revitalize it, and put it on a reasonable financial footing?

It's grim, but obituaries are good for local papers. And classifieds. We underestimate how much losing paid sections hurt papers, it's not just advertising.
