Oh my God, let people go outside. This is lunacy.https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/apr/11/test-of-resolve-britons-warned-to-stay-at-home-as-temperatures-set-to-hit-26c …

"Spread out" is a very different message, and differently enforced, from "we're locking up the local park"

Indeed there could be solutions to allow people to enjoy the outdoors but there are tons of practical problems. E.g. limiting access creates queues to be managed. Would need volunteers as staff too limited (only council workers). Police numbers are too low to enforce effectively.

Even in my small hometown, my family say the local walking paths were so busy and people so oblivious to keeping their distance that they felt uncomfortable. Transmissibility is probably low outdoors but I'm happy my parents are avoiding that risk.

Didn't think about it: ASDA has one way loops, parks could paint arrows on path or have signs. Where I live we just wait at end of path until other person is through, but it's a smaller town.
