Here’s something interesting about suspected bot activity on Twitter. I have my mentions set to require a verified phone number and verified email. This is always been an effective troll filter. But today there are an insane number of zero-follower accounts in my mentions.

A herd of random jerks mobilized onto Twitter is the poor man's botnet

I like when they include references to “NPCs” in their attacks, really just {chef’s kiss}

I would tend to agree. Many rabid D's and R's joined because of
#COVID19. I have been on since 2015, but was passive until recently. Hopefully not because I am rabid. LOL. But, for folks suspicious of, and not in support of#SocialDistanacing, I can tend to appear rabid ;) -
It sounds plausible to me too. I started twitter to follow some political topic, after seeing that many people i was interested in were active mostly on twitter, and was sometimes accused of being a bot because of no followers and default twitter name.
