Wondering who the first person will be to get a Twitter ban for pointing out that the WHO's advice against mask wearing is dangerous and wrong

I do have a medical degree and feel this discussion thread would be stronger with a link to the actual WHO advice on the matter: https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/advice-for-public/when-and-how-to-use-masks …

I'll add: no health body is more conscious than the WHO that resource constraints are real and must be considered when shaping policy. von Bismarck's "Politics is the art of the possible" applies: unless you've got a stash of several billion facemasks somewhere, or a magic wand

Not a doctor and arguing with the WHO who just beat Ebola two weeks ago about how to handle a pandemic on the basis of being able to write python code. How many people do you think you'll be responsible for making sick or even dying? Got a nice visualisation for that, do you?

The recommendation for universal mask use comes not from me, but from public health authorities in places like China, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Japan that have had success containing the disease, as well as from the Lancethttps://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanres/article/PIIS2213-2600(20)30134-X/fulltext …
