I haven't seen people talking much about the inevitable tensions that are coming between different regions of the US, as some places get sicker faster than others. Regrettably a lot of this may map onto the red state/blue state divide and irretrievably politicize public health

Most of what anchors people to home is their job and kids' school. Those are no longer a concern for something like half the population, and if things get really bad in their area you better believe people are going to be on the move. Then we can read up on our Dust Bowl history

Maybe. Or maybe people will prefer to simply not move as the risk of moving is higher than the benefit is self-isolating somewhere with fewer infections.
