Following Danish and American news at the same time is like living with a foot in two entirely separate universes. In DK, prime minister pushing health services for more tests, stricter lockdowns. In US, president still calls it the flu and wants as little done as possible.

Denmark shut down the whole country two weeks ago. Growth in hospitalizations and deaths have been ~linear. US only shut down 1/3, and already taking about opening up, weeks in advance of peak. Freight train of deaths about to hit NYC on exponential scale.
