The left does not care about corporate power. This is the moment when it has become totally clear. Dumb lefties buy Schumer's argument they have to give America to Wall Street in return for unemployment insurance. The truth is they are dumb and don't care.

Which "left" is it though that Matt is talking about?
-
In my experience, most of it, period. For example from most "materialist" leftists it's all "We'll nationalize them," "small business owners are assholes," "doesn't change fundamental class relations"

In this case it's not purity. You can't be purist on an issue you're not really interested in in the first place

yeah, if there's one thing that comes to mind when I think of progressives it's "disinterested in power"
-
the bookmarking site didn't say they are disinterested. but they do continually make choices that prevent them from ever holding much power.

this is a disgusting tweet. compare what the US govt has just done with this corporate bailout stimulus bill & a paltry one-time $1200 for individuals to what Europe has done for their populations -- the difference is a disgrace. (cont)

Mark Warner is responsible for one of the worst provisions in the bill. Instead of the Fed making direct loans to small/medium businesses, they will be made through payday lender-style ‘fintech’ operators.

incremental, centrist faux-progressivism has been losing ground to the right for decades. Left of center policies/issues are supported by an actual majority of US citizens, but centrist Dems are obsessed with winning conservative votes.
