Remote voting is an excellent idea, and I think legislators should take every precaution. But fear of infection can't delay necessary legislation, any more than doctors allow the heightened risk to prevent them from helping patients. Congress needs to do its job, at whatever risk

Members can come in full protective gear. There needs to be a middle ground between "pass rushed laws by voice vote and go into hiding for months" and "be infectious but continue to use the Senate gym for days." We need some leadership from our elected representatives right now
