When the lawmakers that tell you it is an urgent crisis that needs action NOW simultaneously weave dozens of extremely progressive initiatives into the same bill. Basically creating their own poison pill. Does that sound like a group sincere about the urgency to you?!?!

If you're referring to the Green New Deal, I found it incredibly frustrating. I think there is a way to do a massive decarbonization effort that does not try to solve every social problem, and appeals to both sides of the political divide, creating jobs and building stuff

That is exactly what I am referring to. The concept crushes ANY chance at widespread support. To me, it shows that progressives use climate as a tool not something they are serious about tackling.
