at this point, i don't think i can convince anyone who is NOT wearing a mask to wear one, but since im a teacher, i believe in the power of education so let me try again. please wear a mask. it's not so much to protect yourself as much as to protect others around you.https://twitter.com/suilee/status/1241903175327604736 …

if you are saying, we have a shortage, and we need to save them for the medical people, ok i think that is a very valid argument. but then minimize your social interactions. and in hong kong at this point, we can get masks, and there are still plenty of people who don't wear them

im not a medical expert, but as far as i know, there is no data to suggest that they help protecting yourself or others. so ... i guess it is security theater? which isn't to say there is no value in that. between not wearing at all and wearing a cloth mask, i prefer the latter?

My understanding is there's evidence even basic cloth barriers help somewhat. I agree that the social signal (call it theater if you like) has its own importance.https://twitter.com/CMichaelGibson/status/1239718351573843973 …
