If you have to venture out into the world, please post a selfie of yourself wearing a cloth or procedure mask to this thread. Let's get the salubrious custom of protecting others from ourselves by wearing face masks in public started in the United States.

Here again are instructions about making a cloth mask from Deaconess Hospital (https://www.deaconess.com/How-to-make-a-Face-Mask …) and a lovely video from Hong Kong (https://diymask.site/ ). Any mask is better than none, and staying in is better than any mask.

Of course! If people are following medical guidance to stay safe, I'm all in with them. I just want people who aren't in that risk group to reboot their thinking about masks, and remember that it's about mutual aid and not self-protection

making n95 mask covers at my cousin's request (she's a nurse). This is the first trial one I made, using it to go grocery shopping; it's just two layers of quilting cotton. this pattern, + wire in the top seam for fit https://www.instructables.com/id/AB-Mask-for-a-Nurse-by-a-Nurse/ …pic.twitter.com/eTuwGsic0d

I love this pattern! Warmest wishes to your cousin.

What about the n95 I used for a construction project a few years back? Mostly smells of sawdust.
