People who entered the tech industry post-2002 have never known lean times in their professional career. They may be about to learn why we were yelling at them so hard to form a union back when the going was good.

Ok sure, and I want to be clear that I completely support unionization of tech workers, I just think it's not fair to say people who started working in say 2003 don't know what lean means. 2008 was the roughest time I've ever seen and I had the skills and experience.

What I specifically mean is that there weren't industry-wide layoffs like happened in 2000. Of course for many people it was a difficult time, but nothing like what faced people in other sectors.
