During the bushfire crisis in Australia last year everyone helped and donated, it was great. A few weeks later they all complained about the donations being wrongly used etc -- really nasty attitude from everyone, basically. The camaraderie doesn't last!

Australia, like the US and UK, is a murdocracy, where the rule of negative solidarity applies. Don’t be the mug who’s too generous, or you’ll be taken advantage of by scroungers, bludgers, leaners, ratbags and the un-Australian.
