Curious what @mattblaze thinks about this. Seems like something that's easy to call for, but requires an enormous amount of work to get right (and high potential for disaster)https://twitter.com/danpfeiffer/status/1238970076377702400 …

Yes. Conceptually almost certainly the right model. But not trivial to just scaled up at the last minute if you're not geared up already. (It's the last minute).

It seems like there is room for social distancing measures and disinfection measures that can be done at physical polling places to reduce risk to voters. I'd be curious to hear about that from real experts

If you have ideas I’d sure like to hear them because in IL we’re all about to spend 14 hours being exposed.

Spitballing here, but what about appointments to vote, like at the Apple Store? In and out quicker, distance can be maintained. Drive through voting, for those with cars?

We’ll probably end up giving people numbers and making them wait outside. I’m hoping we can move the precinct to a bigger room in the school, since it’s shut down. Can’t do drive-through voting.

Just realized I did the thing where I blab quarter-baked ideas when the call is for experts. Gotta learn to shut up more
