This is the kind of stuff I don't like about Bernie. Here he is misrepresenting short-term loans as donations. He made similarly misleading statements about campaign finance, implying that billionaires were giving unlimited money to his opponents' campaigns.https://twitter.com/SenSanders/status/1238223131204030466 …

Is your objection here really only to the words "hand out"? Can one not hand out a loan? Is the Washington Post headline he quotes, which uses the verb "inject", also a lie because the Fed did not use a syringe?

My objection is that he makes it sound like money is being given to the bankers, not lent, and that is the way the average voter will hear it. Bernie knows this and capitalizes on it. It's the same schtick he pulled when talking about billionaires donating to Buttigieg.

To be fair, the thing the fed actually did also probably sounds to the average voter like giving money to bankers. I don't really expect Bernie to tweet about "repos".

Just say limitless loans to billionaires or something. The facts are enraging enough without overegging this custard
