If you're in the US and feeling really freaked out, read up on 1968. There were weekly bombings, riots, a sense of a world spinning out of control. The eventual upshot was just disco and Nixon. Pretty bad, but not armageddon (for Americans). This helps me, maybe it will help you!

America has had a very gentle time of it the last 80 years or so, and we are not calibrated to keep our heads when things start going wrong. Luckily, the country is full of people who have a broader perspective. Talking to those people may help you feel less worried and upset

If you panic now, how silly will you feel when things are ten times worse in a few weeks, and you have no emotional range left? Pacing yourself as a crisis unfolds is key. Leave some fear in the tank for later. Those are my words of reassurance to you.
