It's far easier not to touch your face when you're wearing a mask, so I don't get why the American guidance continues to be not to do it. Even a cloth reusable mask helps with it (and is a visible social signal)

I’ve been using gloves, which helps not to be so face touchy and more self aware, and there’s less social pressure against it in the US. At least while it’s cold still no one really notices.

Heh. Cone of shame. I think it might be easier for people who work with viruses, chemicals and/or sick people to not touch their faces. If I had nitric acid on my gloves, I'm not going to rub my eye, no matter how itchy it is.

I'm the same way. No way will I rub my remaining eye!
