This is one reason we badly need a new Senate! My plea to everyone is to help candidates down the ticket raise funds for their races, since their efforts to register new voters, especially in difficult parts of the state, will help in the Senate race.https://secure.actblue.com/donate/great_slate …

I take this approach because I believe the competitive Senate campaigns (once they have a candidate) will saturate with money, and that the lower-ticket races may reach voters the Senate campaigns can't. If you have a better idea, fund that instead! But fight for that Senate!

An argument I've heard from some is "we need to get Bernie into office, and then win the Senate in the 2022 midterms to get his agenda passed." I don't think that's politically realistic. We have one shot to get programs through, like with Obamacare. We need a majority in 2021!

Bernie's been pushing for single payer since at least the early 90s. Pretty ridiculous to characterize his M4A proposal as a display of ideological fitness.

You're misunderstanding me. I am not calling the plans insincere, but insofar as they can't just be imposed by the winner from the White House, they bear a distant relationship to political reality. The way to get anything resembling like them passed is to elect Senators to do it
