Seems like an obvious point, but older black primary voters picked Joe Biden because they prefer Joe Biden and are generally conservative among Dems. What is structuring this primary is the power and political choices of older black America.

And the lack of turnout in promised numbers of young America. The older black voters have the power they do because they vote in numbers.

Must be nice to be so insulated from our country's barbaric policies that you focus so much energy on disparaging the a candidate who doesn't take corporate cash and will try to change things for the better. I'm ashamed & embarrassed that I ever donated to your projects.

If you look at my tweets, I don't disparage Sanders, I call him to task for not turning out the voters his victory depends on, and who he sees as his winning coalition. The reason I do that is because it is imperative we win elections.

Fair enough, but it'd be a lot better if you focused that on Biden, who stands to be weakest candidate the Dems have dominated in my lifetime. This is going to be so much worse than 2016 and I've got family members who are 100% going to die if we don't get universal healthcare.

I'm personally pretty aghast at Biden, but ultimately I don't really want to attack anyone; I'd like us to get a Senate majority so we can move any kind of health care legislation through, and find a way for us all to come together for the general election.

That's also fair & I appreciate your response. I would have been thrilled to have Senator Warren as President but at this point Sanders seems our best bet to try to accomplish some positive change. btw, I love your writing, it's brought me a lot of joy & always makes me laugh.

And also, sorry for the 1st response, it wasn't very polite. I got upset because I believe that Bernie does genuinely give a d*mn & if we can get a lot of people to line up behind him, there will be a huge shift in a humane direction. Imagine a banker/corporate free cabinet.

No need to be sorry, emotions run high and I know I phrase things in a provocative way. I've told other Bernie supporters this—he was my congressman, I've long respected and liked him, and if he can pull his coalition together I'll be proud to support him in November
