I wonder how much the Corbyn debacle handicapped Sanders (a much better person and candidate), not so much with voters as with decision makers who might otherwise have been persuadable toward a winning candidate.

A lot of those decision makers moved hard to Bloomberg with the results we all saw, so I don't think it was much of a handicap. There's a more mundane explanation in the fact that Sanders and his campaign are just rather bad at reaching out to low and mid-level party leaders

A lot of American politics is just remembering to return phone calls, working well with others and having some feel for how to adapt your message to the local audience. The Sanders campaign is notoriously bad at this stuff
