The Bloomberg press and punditry bubble was a shameful episode and uncomfortably reminiscent of 2016 failings that have still not been addressed. The problem is that when the press works itself into a lather, its coverage decisions have real impacts on political campaigns.

I watched how journalists covered Iowa, and the difference between the superb local press in the state and the bloated, incurious, and arrogant national press corps could not have been greater. We need a sensible, well-funded space program to fire them into the heart of the Sun
