I like the people who believe Bernie would beat Trump in a landslide but also can somehow fatally damaged by the fourth place contender in his own primaryhttps://twitter.com/krystalball/status/1235011904453697542 …

If Warren had dropped and endorsed Bernie when the centrists dropped and endorsed Biden, progressives would have had a fighting chance. She stayed in so she could get 3rd in her home state.

I mean that’s what having the progressive vote split does. In a general, the progressive vote wouldn’t be split nor would the establishment vote. You really think primaries and generals are pretty much the same don’t you?

she stole votes from him because their platforms are semi-similar, despite the fact that she doesn't mean what she says and takes money from super PACs, how hard is that to understand

I like people who don’t believe someone set up as some kind of hero on “your side” spouting constant lies about you in millions of dollars of PAC funded ads & in news coverage allegedly favoring “your side” won’t have more effect than the most obvious villain ever talking shit

Because of how vote splitting in (roughly) FPTP elections works when you have eg one RW and two LW (or the other way around) candidates, vs how (roughly) FPTP works when there are only two opposing choices? That is why eg Nader was seen as a spoiler for Gore in 2000.

The idea is that Sanders has a chance of drawing in the under-45 crowd, while older Dems are pretty much guaranteed to show up and vote blue regardless of who's on the ticket. Do you really think that Biden is going to have a significantly wider appeal than Clinton?

This is exactly what I worry about. The reverse narrative, that Sanders won't turn out the base, rings hollow to me. But I'm not much of a get-in-line base democrat either, so my opinion prolly doesn't matter 🙃
