I attended two Buttigieg town halls back to back in small towns in J.D.'s district. Mayor Pete packed the house in both places. He did it by speaking to a deep desire for hope and change in a part of the state that even in Presidential years doesn't often see a Federal candidatehttps://twitter.com/JDScholten/status/1234292595599323136 …

The distance between Twitter, where Pete was always a laughingstock (including myself here), and the places where people turned out for him and believed in his campaign is immense. Whatever we think of Buttigieg, we can't leave those people behind; they are counting on us.

The qualities J.D. listed are all ones that are true for his own campaign, except for one—money. Mayor Pete had an amazing fundraising ability. The rural candidates on the Great Slate don't have those connections. It's up to us to be their fancy wine cave:https://secure.actblue.com/donate/great_slate …

A lot of people in IA-4 believed in Buttigieg's candidacy in large part because he showed up. Warren has stellar policy on rural issues, but she only did three events much west of Des Moines. Biden sightings were just as rare. Pete, meanwhile, was all over the district.

The reason I push so hard for us to give to these specific campaigns is that the four candidates have a total commitment to showing up. J.D.'s district is the smallest— it's the size of Ireland. It requires an enormous amount of effort to run like this. We can help pay the bills
