Voters really hate PACs, so there's a case to be made that if Democratic candidates can demonstrate a viable fundraising pathway that doesn't take their money, there will be a lot of interest in abandoning them

I'm just saying, and Sanders has many flaws, but one benefit of electing an explicitly socialist candidate who is meaningfully critical of current state funding, is it opens the possibility of socialist (public) election funding policy. Others could do it but seems... unlikely.
