You raise money in rich people's homes because that's where the money is. (Disclaimer: I have raised money in rich people's homes.) The conflation of corporate capture of the Democratic party, and the basic mechanics of campaign fundraising, may be politically sound but irks me.https://twitter.com/ThisWeekABC/status/1234125441943900161 …

The one guy on this slate who we already elected to Congress has infuriated the party leadership by refusing to take corporate PAC donations for his re-election. He's part of a growing caucus of incumbents making this pledge. The change is real, but it's also incremental and hard

Bernie is an existential threat to nothing without a reformist, Democratic Congress. So let's give him one!

A final word about corporate and union PACs and the Democratic leadership. They are scared to death that if they give up that PAC money, there will be nothing there to replace it. So by showing this strong new form of grassroots fundraising, we make them more amenable to change

You do great fundraising work & I've donated to the Great Slate but... California illustrates that even w a Dem supermajority, there is zero effort to enact campaign finance reform. Without an explicit commitment to public election funding, there is zero chance it will happen.

There are multiple fronts here, and it's such a hard problem. The most urgent one is Citizen's United, which I can't see how it can be solved without a constitutional amendment. I love Maine's public funding law and wish I could see it happen in California

Working within the broken system gives an advantage to those who are better at fundraising from rich people. And if you're better at fundraising from rich people, why would you give up your advantage? The solution is to make fundraising from rich people politically TOXIC.

You fundraise from rich people because they have the money by definition.
