South Carolina is the fourth state in a row where Bernie Sanders failed to bring out the large, multiracial, multigenerational coalition of the working class that is supposed to guarantee him victory over Donald Trump

idk sounds like an indirect way of saying bringing out a multi-generational, multi-racial bloc of the working class

Take it from the UK, we initially thought we had a leftist leader that could reach new people too: he couldn’t and ended up alienating a huge core of the left’s support in the process.

I see two things worth noting here: 1. Caucuses and small turnout states are not representative of the general election. This is why they are probably bad to use as a litmus test. 2. The total number of votes cast so far is small relative to the total pool of voters.

Both of these facts mean that *even if* you believed the Sanders theory of a ginormous coalition/generational change/whatever in voting, there's not enough data yet. And as the OP rightly points out, the sample of states so far isn't telling this as a story.
