Someone called me a tech millionaire, and I got all snippy, but then I realized that I have no idea how to value Pinboard. Do I just, like, multiply earnings by something? Is it the craigslist value of the servers? How do you value a tiny tech business?

Np. When it comes to a sale, you'll want to engage an M&A expert that will get you a more detailed valuation. By the way, for a tech/SaaS company, using 4-6x is conservative for a quick estimate. Below that is riskier/retail companies. Above that is niche & hot markets.

I think that multiplier only matters for high growth companies. Slow growth/profitable companies are afaik valued at 2-3x annual free cash flow
