Again, from the context just in the clip, it's obvious Bloomberg is talking about preindustrial agricultural economy, not the modern agricultural economy. But acknowledging that doesn't get people to smash RT.https://twitter.com/BryanDeanWright/status/1229227257849241600 …

Bloomberg has his “deplorable” moment, claiming that farmers don’t have the brain power to compete in the modern era. He then explains how he thinks the $1.053T Ag Economy works. “Dig a hole, put a seed in, put dirt on top, add water, up comes the corn.” pic.twitter.com/s0ROkjEknt

But this isn’t really a fair characterization of preindustrial agriculture either!

That’s every bit as BS as saying it about modern Ag.

Preindustrial agriculture required a lot of expertise. Knowledge that took millennia to learn as a society, and years to learn as an individual. Anyone today can see for themselves how much expertise is required to feed yourself using preindustrial methods. Just try it sometime.

His claim was that those people who were farmers back then now exist in a different information society and how there's a new type of job that requires a lot more "gray matter". He's essentially legitimizing class stratification.

I think I get the easy pile-on point, but it still seems like an insanely arrogant and just plain wrong way to describe what's involved in *any* sort of farming - pre-industrial or not.

He's an arrogant and dismissive guy! That's why I'm irked when the pile-on is misdirected like this. There's so much to work with.

"Stick some wires together, put a load of people in offices, get them to do stuff, bank the profits"...how hard can it be?
