Remember, what's dangerous about Trump is not that he'll be a dictator. He's too stupid and incompetent to last long in that role. The key for his enablers is to break down the guardrails for a smarter, more ruthless Trump. Someone, say, like Tom Cotton.

The problem with this specific example is that Cotton is a moron

Not recognizing obvious intelligence in your enemies is stupid and is how you lose. History of war points that out especially clearly.

There are many very intelligent people who fit this profile, including some who hide their great intelligence well. But Tom Cotton just happens to be an idiot. Excellent point, unfortunate example is all I'm saying here.

Why do you think he's an idiot? To me a true sign of intelligence isn't subjective. You have to look at tangible results. So far, Cotton has been accomplishing what he set out to do.

It's my received opinion from friends whose judgement I trust in Arkansas politics

As I said, I don't just subjectively. Especially based on second hand opinions. I don't have any idea about what he's done in Arkansas. I'm only judging based on his performance now. I don't like it but I'm able to admit that he's been winning.

I think that's a strong argument.
