This is a dig on Bernie, but I want to dunk on it more generally. It makes no sense that Democrats must quickly come together so the party doesn't "tear itself apart", when the point is to find people who can stand up to Trump. The primary gives people a choice, long may it live.https://twitter.com/joshtpm/status/1227969964705034241 …

Maybe trump will make a gentleman’s agreement not to run a negative campaign?

Trump got absolutely ripped by his nominating opponents. A fraud, a conman, a sexist... It only made him stronger.

To that point, Sanders despite being generally courteous in 2016 was still poking glaringly obvious holes in Clinton's ability to perform in the general election. His performances v. her in a few Rust Belt states should've been warning shot across the party's bow.

Seriously. Seems like establishment dems just want to sing kumbayah and have little appetite for doing politics.

I'm sorry, who are we talking about here? Trump alone is not a winning issue to GOTV. We need policies that people care about. The candidates have very different histories. Sometimes we have to argue before we can find healthy agreement.

Oh hey
@Pinboard . I didn't read the original tweet, but now I have. We are in total agreement! Sorry about that.

Counterpoint: The health insurance (not healthcare, health insurance), fossil fuel, banking, war industries are all Swiftboating Bernie non-stop, and you're hearing pushback from people because people are sick of being under the thumb of corporate rule. https://www.thenation.com/article/gop-donors-and-k-street-fuel-third-ways-advice-democratic-party/https://www.thenation.com/article/gop-donors-and-k-street-fuel-third-ways-advice-democratic-party/https://www.thenation.com/article/gop-donors-and-k-street-fuel-third-ways-advice-democratic-party/https://www.thenation.com/article/gop-donors-and-k-street-fuel-third-ways-advice-democratic-party/https://www.thenation.com/article/gop-donors-and-k-street-fuel-third-ways-advice-democratic-party/ …

If it's merely attacks, why aren't we talking about racism when the Clinton's racism caused PoC en mass to abandon the party? If it's merely attacks, why aren't we talking about all of the close ties to Goldman Sachs that helped sink Clinton? Why are the attacks all dumb?
