There is a huge gap in money donated to the Presidential race and everywhere else. The $4 million Pete just raised would pay for an entire House campaign. We still have matching funds left—please donate to the Great Slate on this Democratic debate night! https://secure.actblue.com/donate/great_slate …https://twitter.com/PriscillaWT/status/1225928388948430851 …

But the only way to fix the broken, corrupt campaign finance system is to elect people within it, who will then reform it. And that's the basic premise of the Great Slate. We try to raise no-strings funds to free candidates to spend their time fighting for votes, not fundraising

This is horrifically expensive—a House campaign costs on the order of $4M if you're lucky not to have a major media market; a state House campaign can cost north of $100K. The only way to elect people who aren't wealthy, and don't cozy up to wealth, is to fundraise for them.

First time hearing about any of this (just started following your account a few months ago) but you're making excellent points. Donated! (who is the candidate btw?)

Oh, thank you so much! I was referring to Jared Golden from ME-2, who is part of a caucus of House Democrats refusing to take corporate PAC money.
