I am not just picking on Bernie here; I want the candidates running on electability to win an election, and I want the candidate promising to mobilize the half of America who doesn't vote to mobilize the half of America who doesn't vote. I want to see the receipts!
I don't want to argue with you, since I think we kind of see eye to eye. We need *some* test somewhere of whether his theory of change works. I understand that it may require a buildup and not be immediately visible, but faith is not enough given how much is at stake

I hope it is true, but I also don't know who would be better at this than him - we know from 2016 that there was crossover appeal with Trump voters and "independents", and I don't see that with other candidates on the Democratic side, aside from Yang.

Would it be better if he were younger / called himself a "New Dealer" or "Social Democrat" instead of a "Democratic Socialist"? I think so, but elections are decided by voters in a handful of states, and it is ironic to me that he seems less popular with Dems than those voters.
