I worry about disinformation operations, election shenanigans, and all the rest, but the thing we really have to worry about is making an excellent case to American voters, including some Trump voters, in enough numbers to beat the Electoral College and win the Senate

One of the best things that helped my appreciation of democracy was becoming a poll worker. I was in charge of setting up, operating, and shutting down the machines in a district in Philadelphia for several years.

Me, too, in the Chicago suburbs. I actually think the disorganization and patchwork nature of the process is our best defense against wholesale interference, by either foreign or domestic forces. But we definitely need more young people getting involved!

This is too much work. Given a choice between doing unpaid work and monarchy I would be leaning towards monarchy.

Sure but don't you want a vote to become a monarchy, really commit to it instead of sliding into it halfass? You can still monitor that election!
