One thing I would encourage people to look at in presidential candidates beyond their ideology—does this person seem like they competently run their staff? Is their operation effective and organized? Do they seem lost or like they're doing things with purpose? Do they hire well?
I mean someone who can run a medium or large organization effectively. Consider Lyndon Johnson—he was an effective executive, a superlative floor manager, and a terrible human being to work for.
