A thing to keep in mind as people pore over 'first and second alignment' votes for Iowa: a lot of people "realigned" before the first count happened, meaning that they went over to join a viable group. I would ignore this signal entirely (and do a ranked choice primary next time)

Oh my fucking god, in the UK we do entire general elections with 100% paper ballots (32m votes last year) and we usually know the result before the night is out.

One of the things I saw suggested last night was that, now that precincts have to report the actual vote counts in addition to delegates, the IDP found a lot more errors in delegate apportionment than had previously been knowable before. Any evidence of that?
