Curious if you have analysis/opinions about why corporate PACs do this. It looks like the donations are typically small and probably not enough to get Mitch or others to pay attention just by $$$, while creating a PR liability with the companies’ typically liberal employees

I wonder about this a lot. I think it serves mainly as a very public signal of support; no competent politician sells out for a $5000 donation, but knowing a company like Facebook is openly supporting you must have a lot of value.
