Isn't another possible lesson that deep red seats are impossible to win, national conditions are everything, and we should all just give to the DCCC? (I plan to give to the GS again this year despite believing this.)

GS 1 was worth it just for the buzz that it created that got previously disengaged people involved, motivated, and educated. Its results can’t just be measured in seats won.

I viewed it this way: money to long shot-but-plausible Democrats was money that made Republicans overreact and spend effort on seemingly safe races. Meanwhile the "traditional" contended districts did swing blue.
