I guess the weirdest thing about the AMERICAN DIRT saga for me is: if you're spending a shitton of money on the book, why not bring in somebody to check the Spanish at least?

In book publishing, the onus has always been on the author as the sole validation of expertise. any modification which makes the cost structure of publishing higher would simply make it even harder for authors.
