I'm so pleased to announce that the Great Slate is back for 2020! This year, we are going to put all our energy into winning four competitive Senate races—in Maine, Alaska, Colorado, and Iowa—by backing our 2018 alumni running again in rural House districts in those states.

The calculus is simple: every competitive race is going to be saturated with political ads, and the presidential race will drive everything. Our best hope for turning out new votes, and persuading the few persuadable voters, is lower on the ticket. It's a complementary strategy.

To read about this strategy in mind-numbing detail, please sign up for the Great Slate mailing list! I'll be sending out an update tonight, including some thoughts from having attended Steve King's town halls here in Iowa: http://eepurl.com/dmnmUY

In the meantime, please give some vital early money to our candidates! To kick things off, I'll match the first $2,800 of donations to
@JDScholten through the Great Slate. J.D. is on the road to an event in Ames; let's give him a nice surprise on arrival!https://secure.actblue.com/donate/great_slate …Show this thread -
At the college democrats event at ISU in Ames, where J.D. will be guest speaker. These crafty young politicos already know the secret of organizing: bring food!pic.twitter.com/OkSAgxRgCC

I turned on the ActBlue setting that doesn't pass contact infro through to campaigns, and they have all heard my spiel about mailings being a deterrent to fundraising in the tech community. But unscrupulous people mine FEC filings, and I agree it's a huge aggravation
