Yes! The cathedral in Monterey, the mission in Carmel and Mission San Antonio de Padua (which is a beast to get to) are three of my favorites. A number of the adobes in downtown Monterey predate US statehood as well. (I wrote a historic walking tour of Monterey!)

Downtown Monterey's buildings provide a lot of context for Alta Mexico-era California. I personally think they're worth preserving because it can help visitors understand how people lived (and prevent the erasure of that era from memory).
