The 2017 march was the biggest public event of the Trump era where you could go make your voice heard through numbers, and draw inspiration and comfort from the sheer scale of the thing. Voting is not the next level for a mass movement like this, it's something different

All this movement needed was a formal leadership who would get the permits, make the announcements, set a date and not form a circular firing squad in the intervening eleven months. But that proved beyond the realm of the possible
