Amendments can be repealed the same way they were passed; I don't understand your argument. Large parts of the constitution have been changed by that process. A government with absolute control of guns, tanks, fighter jets etc. works just fine.

A government with absolute control of violence will deteriorate into an authoritarian government eventually.

I think that that's an article of faith more than anything borne out from evidence. There are lots of free countries where gun ownership is restricted, and lots of authoritarian countries where people own guns but are not free.

Define free country. Most countries don’t go out of control because of foreign powers interceding in them. Being subjugated to somebody else’s “protection” isn’t freedom, works for military bases and for people hoping the government will keep them safe.

Do you think Australia is a free country? Or Denmark? Or Japan?

Not sure about Denmark, but Australia depends on stable control of maritime trade routes (which means the USA at the moment, could mean China eventually) and Japan, well, we know how they resigned. These countries wouldn’t be the same without foreign intervention. 1/2

To go back on topic by comparing USA to other countries is really hard, since each country has so many problems of their own. Japan puts to jail almost everyone they find suspects. These countries were heavily under the rule of aristocracy until not too long ago.

I'm going to disengage (and wish you a good day!) because I think this argument is ranging too broadly for us to come to any kind of agreement

I wish you a good day too. The other thread about the 18th amendment stands though.
