I wish Chrome had an easy way of finding which open tab was burning through my battery.pic.twitter.com/OJaQRMl8wR

Several people recommended the Chrome task manager (Shift+Esc, or click the three-dot menu in upper right, and "more tools"). This isn't perfect (the sampling time is short and doesn't seem to be adjustable), but offers much more tab-hunting info than the OS X Activity Monitorpic.twitter.com/qiwEH3H5ej

In my case, the CPU-shredding culprit was this two megabyte(!) bus schedule that could have been an HTML table. https://concordcoachlines.com/route/portland-to-boston-logan-airport/ …

Right-click on the Chrome uhh Chrome and click Task Manager. It'll tell you what tabs are using what memory/CPU.

In Chrome, Window->Task Manager brings up Chrome’s own process manager and that usually shows me which tab is being naughty

Chrome overflow menu > more tools > task manager will show you memory and cpu consumption by tab and extension process.

I’m probably telling you something you know but if you’re not worried about losing data, you can kill it right there in Activity Monitor and then chrome will do the sad face on the dead page. Which will tell you which page it is

I've tried this and it leads to sad faces on foregrounded pages but no drop in the high baseline power use

The trick is to uninstall Chrome and use Safari
